2016 will see Leicester Caribbean Carnival host its second Regional Queen Show event which will be the 6th Annual event for EMCCAN.

Contestants from around the East Midlands will compete for the regional prize. The most outstanding contestant from each city will be crowned Carnival Queen for that city. The winner will be an ambassador for carnival arts (regionally and nationally) during her reign.

Leicester Caribbean Carnival will take the Queen Show into a new dimension this year, focusing on carnival traditions from four Caribbean Islands depicting a historical storyline from slavery to the present, through costume, dance, music and poetry in the first half. Followed by spectacular costume entries from the East Midlands and other exciting acts in the second half. There will also be a vibrant exhibition from the emccan carnival partners Nottingham, Leicester, Northampton and Derby in the foyer.

Tickets go on sale from June 6th through the respective carnival organisations which make up Emccan, in Nottingham, Northampton, Derby and Leicester. Tickets will also be available on the night, priced at £10.
