East Midlands Carnival Arts base moves to Sneinton Market

LAUNCH & POP UP CARNIVAL EVENT‚ Sunday 13th August‚ 2.00pm to 5.00pm

The East Midlands Caribbean Carnival Arts Network (EMCCAN) launches its brand-new space at Sneinton Market this Sunday from 2.00pm-5.00pm with performances from local carnival artists and a special appearance from the Junkanoo Commandos‚ all the way from The Bahamas!

At 2pm the celebrations will commence with the sounds of Steel Pan and Soca music filling the Sneinton Market avenues. Local carnival artists will begin entertaining guests with their unique performances, and guided tours will be available to show exactly what the new space has to offer.

At 3pm the Junkanoo Commandos will arrive in style, fully dressed in their vibrant and beautifully crafted costumes bringing the market place to life with their captivating performance.

An Official Opening Ceremony will commence at 3.30pm with EMCCAN‚ Chairman, George Mighty MBE doing the honours alongside other VIPs and board members from across the region. The ceremony will officially open the new office and announce exciting details of Nottingham Carnival which takes place the following weekend.

Once the space is officially open we will celebrate in carnival style with food, music, dancing and networking until 5pm.

EMCCAN invites anyone who is interested to join them for this event which marks the beginning of an exciting new era for the organisation and wider carnival community in Nottingham and the region.
